First of all: You KNOW the products and services you sell better than anyone else – That’s the mindset you need. Develop a strong positive self-image by seeing yourself as an expert in the field. See yourself as solving a problem, providing a solution and being the knowledgeable expert.
2. Visualise Success
Visualisation is a powerful tool for increasing your confidence around sales and also in other areas of your life. The technique involves imagining a successful outcome to a situation before it has happened.
Close your eyes and imagine that you’re having a successful interaction with your prospect. Imagine feelings of positivity happening as you see yourself securing the sale.

3. Turn Fear Into Excitement
Fear and excitement are forms of energy which actually feel quite similar in your body. Feeling fearful? Try shifting the energy from fear to excitement, even before going into the sales call, you will give off a positive, confident impression rather than one of needy desperation. Instead of letting fear run the show, try tapping into feelings of positivity, gratitude and excitement.

4. Ask for client testimonials
Collecting client testimonials after a successful sale can work wonders in helping you build confidence. Imagine what it would be like to read a testimonial from a delighted customer who thinks you are just fantastic! Feels good! And if you’re feeling like it, you can totally compliment yourself, too – The good old pat on the back’ can work wonders, even if it’s coming from you to you.
5. Focus on Your ‘Why’
When the going gets tough, having clarity around your ‘why’ can really help. What will the extra income allow you to create in your life? Will it allow you to have more freedom? Will it give you more options? Write down your personal ‘why’ in as much detail as you can and refer back to it when you are feeling overwhelmed or apprehensive. Being very clear on this can definitely help pushing yourself and build confidence.
6. Believe in Your Product or Service
If you don’t believe in your product or service, no one else will. Remember, you’re selling something that you believe has value; otherwise, you wouldn’t be offering it to your valued customers. If you believe in your product, and communicate that—both verbally and non-verbally—to your prospects, they will believe in it, too.
7. Keep Track of and Celebrate Your Wins
Remember to celebrate achievements!
It has been proven that acknowledging and celebrating your wins is an important part of building confidence. In general, we respond better to reward than punishment. Keep track of your progress and celebrate all your sales wins along the way. You don’t have to wait until you reach a huge milestone or goal.
